The aim of the conference is to offer an arena for both researchers and filmmakers to discuss factors that contribute to a film’s success and to combine the practice of film-making with the more conceptual orientation of film production studies. The recent changes in film and television industries cause both challenges and opportunities. Not only has film production gone digital but also new models for distribution and exhibition strategies have emerged. At the other end of a film’s lifecycle, we have the audience. Audiences have access to films in more ways than ever before. Conceptualizing these developments as practice helps us in understanding various interrelated questions and bridging the existing gap between researchers and filmmakers.
